Inner Tie Rod Boot Clamp Removal

Took me about 2 hours to figure out how to remove the bellows boot off the inner tie rod.

Once i remove the tie rod end keeping a close eye on the position on the threads i ll need to cut the bands on the inner tie rod boot and slide it off. Only do this if you are replacing both inner and outer tie rod ends. Insert the proper sized end of the inner tie rod remover into the tie rod remover tool. You will need to remove the pinch nut.

So i decided to make a video showing you folks what the clamp looks. Use the inner tie rod remover to screw the inner tie rod off the rack. Pull the boot off the shaft. Assume that the hub has been unbolted from the car already using the 12 pt.

7 bend the locking plate tabs away from the flats on the inner joint housing. From here insert the inner tie rod tool apply another wrench to the part coming from the rack and loosen. Remove the inner tie rod end boot by using the wire cutters and twisting and cutting the clamp holding it in place. 5 remove the clamps on the rack boot by grasping the mushroom pinch crimp with diagonal or flush end cutters and twisting cutting.

Remove the boot from the inner tie rod end. There is another tool out there that s a long cylinder with three screws that clamp down on the inner tie rod however it wouldn t have worked in my case bent inner tie rod.
